The Proposed Peace Conference Rewards Terrorism
and Jeopardizes the Safety and Security of Israel.

The proposed Mideast peace conference being arranged by the Bush Administration, slated to take place before the end of the year, is a misguided, futile attempt to reach a negotiated settlement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. It is futile because a lasting peace can only be negotiated when both sides enter the negotiations in good faith.

What's more, the proposed peace conference sends a dangerous signal to terrorists throughout the world. It tells them that terror works! The last thing America should be doing right now is to reward the terrorist organization Hamas by pushing Israel to trade away land for some illusionary "peace." Terrorist organizations like Hamas don't want peace, and we should not be rewarding their terrorist activities in any way, shape or form.

The record clearly demonstrates that the Palestinian Authority, now divided between the defeated and corrupt Fatah and the terrorist organization Hamas, has failed to comply with the previous "Road Map to Peace." The Palestinian Authority refuses to recognize the right of Israel to exist and refuses to renounce terrorism and dismantle its terrorist infrastructure.
