Join the Nearly 5,000 People Who Have Signed
I got an email yesterday asking when we planned to submit the "Libel Terrorism Protection" bill petition to the New York state legislature. We haven't submitted it yet because we want to get as many signatures as possible on the petition. We'll be a much stronger voice if 10,000 people sign than if 5,000 do. As you probably know by now, the legislation that has been introduced is designed to protect New York authors from lawsuits filed against them in foreign courts. These lawsuits are typically intended to intimidate and silence authors who are exposing terrorism and those who enable acts of terrorism. As we have noted, American free speech and free press rights are at stake. What's more, if "libel terrorists" are allowed to silence American authors, our very national security is threatened. So if you haven't yet signed the petition calling on the New York legislature to pass the Libel Terrorism Protection Act, please do so today by clicking here.
