Norfolk School Board Defies Voters – Take Action!

The Norfolk School Board is disregarding democracy by ignoring voter-supported candidates and handpicking replacements in secret. Instead of allowing the public to decide, they blocked two qualified candidates from consideration and selected five appointees behind closed doors.

Mark Ascu Sr. (4,125 votes) and John Sitka (812 votes) were denied even an interview, despite earning thousands of votes in the last election. This is a betrayal of the voters’ trust. The Norfolk City Council must intervene and call a special election in June to restore fairness.

Transparency and accountability matter. We must ensure the will of the people is respected. The school board and city council must hear from us—loud and clear!
