Actions Taken
We are at a crisis point in the proper oversight and conduct of elections in Prince William County that requires an immediate resolution of non-conforming behavior of the Election Board and Registrar.
The Election Board is guilty of dereliction of duty, shirking, and passing off its duty to a Registrar who, alone, has dictated the tone, tenor, tempo, guidance, direction, and leadership of election matters turning the chain of command upside down. Active and direct leadership by the Election Board is the letter and the spirit of § 24.2-106-109.
Since 2020, there has been an ongoing investigation which, recently, led to a January 11th public notice entitled “PWC Office of Elections Releases Reporting Data in Michele White Election Trial”, reporting that election results were improperly reported by the previous administration during the 2020 election.
Public confidence in Prince William County elections is at an all-time low. The actions by the Registrar and lack of active oversight and direction by the Election Board have raised substantive and reasonable legal concerns over the PWC Election Board and Registrar conforming to Virginia Law under 24.2.
